Check out the upgraded Avatar Rate and Review system.

We finished testing our newest upgrade so try it out!

New features:

1) You can sort the avatar ratings in order by RATING (Find the true There gems and scums with ease now!

The sort menu can be adjusted at the bottom of the avatar list of names in that forum.

2) You can sort the avatar ratings in order by # of VOTES (Find out who the most controversial There avatars really are quickly!

3) The exact avatar rating is now displayed next to the star rating for better accuracy in ranking.

4) When sorting by RATING you will be enjoying the results of a rather complicated system that helps protect the ranking of the best of the best among avatars. Keep in mind that sorting by rating also takes into account the number of votes for each rating when ranking avatars.
It works like this... if an avatar gets less than 7 votes and has never been rated less than 5 stars, then that avatar will be assigned a probationary rank in the sort which is just BELOW the other avatars who have 5 star ratings (this would be 4.501 and above depending on # of votes).
Once that avatar achieves 7 or more 5 star ratings (and has never been rated below 5 stars) then that avatar will be placed in the rank at their rightful rating of 5 (all 5's will also be sorted by #votes). So overall while not necessarily perfect, we think this will be a pretty accurate system for our needs. Enjoy!

In addition to our < TOS >, here are some additional rules:

1) DO NOT use the Rant or Rave section to have conversations about avatars with each other. Your posts in the Rant or Rave section must only be REVIEWS. You may review each avatar only TWICE. You may vote only ONCE per avatar. Any abuse of this will result on a warning to you and subsequent abuse will result in a ban. Infringing posts may be deleted without notice.

2) Reviews in this section must be well thought out (no one liner's please). Remember you are only allowed to review twice, and once you've used up your reviews you can no longer post in that avatar's thread. So use them wisely.

3) Although person's being rated/reviewed may respond to the reviews in their thread, they may only directly respond to each review ONE time. For example, if there are 4 reviews in a person's thread, then the person being reviewed may respond ONLY FOUR times (once to each of those reviews). Abusing your Rant or Rave thread solely as a way of bumping your # of reviews (thus making you seem more controversial/popular) will result in a warning and possibly a ban.

-Keep in mind: We believe that it is YOUR responsibility as a community to report abusive posts in this section. We are more than happy to take a look at posts if there is some kind of violation of our TOS. However many of you realize we do everything we possibly can to protect freedom of speech... so just because someone posts that they don't like someone doesn't qualify for an edit.

just my insecurity...but i know i have been ranted and raved before. for some reason when i do a search for my avie, i get a sorry message that says my name can't be found. just wondering what's up... :dunno:

Spliff:

I just want to say I am very happy to see these new rules.

They will certainly help eliminate some of the problems without having to eliminate the forum. I definately want to say, awesome ideas.

If I would have thought of this, I would have never suggested we had to completely rid ourselves of the forum. Very astute on your part.

There are a lot of good aspects to these forums, and there are bad. But now that I see there is a way to fix at least some of the problems, what the heck, keep em around.

Way to admin, Spliff. :respect:

) yes i can spell my own name. i typed it five times and it didnt come up. waited a day and came back and it came up fine. thanks though for the link and for all your help making There Uni fun to check out! :thumbup:
