Hey everybody. This will be a new topic to start some dating tips!! Want to get that girl? What are the steps to take to get them into a private IM conversation? I will be adding favorite hang out spots for those couples or potentials to go on dates!! I welcome anyone to give good tips. This will be an ongoing process. I have some spots bookmarked, so if you ever need to find a really good spot, IM me. I'll be in There!

And for all the girls out there who want to vent on the things that the boys should not do, post here too!

Well... I'm married, but having a great time in There just looking for newbies to help. I would suggest if you're looking for a serious virtual relationship - help as much and as often as you can. It's a great way to meet new people and you're sure to meet a mate eventually. :kiss:

Be careful of a redhead in There named Mackie(my wife)! I was rolling this morning - apparently she met ZzuesS last night and she found a new way to make money. I think she made T$51 last night stripping for people. :thumbsup:

As far as romantic spots, I think it nice at some of the houses on Oolay (sp?) island. Be nice to get some furniture on the porch and chat...

Hey, I just thought of a great way for There guys to meet interesting and sociable women in an informal, casual environment, with minimal fuss and maximum "memorable"!

Too bad there aren't any dancing emotes as of yet.

And I think "Chippendales" is a trademark.

If you plan on striking up a conversation, don't go straight for the naughty talk!!! Like in reality, start off as a friendship first. BUT, don't count out the possibility of striking up some sexy talk. Who knows who you'll meet. ;)

TIP for today: There girls like it when you compliment them on their clothes (sound famliar?) This is a real conversation starter. If you haven't noticed, lot of the women out there are designing their own clothes or buying them from the auctions. No more plain solid shirts that were first available in There. People's creativity are really flowing! SO.....compliment the shirt, the pants, whichever. Regardless, it starts up a good conversation. =)

Indeed it IS the month of february!! Hmmm...and Valentine's is coming up. Well, while most people can be bitter about the whole Valentine's thing, we should share the love. I'm talking about GIFT GIVING!!! Wish There had options like giving gifts like a rose (Like in SIMS). But in the meantime, we can still give gifts whether its clothing (find a cute shirt in an auction somewhere). Or perhaps take a girl out on a ride on the buggy and look at the starts. Yah I know, this is a load of CHHHHHEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEe. But gotta do what you gotta do. And the females, you can the same thing, or do what Mackie did (lol)....a striptease....or find a loveseat and give a kiss. 'close '''kiss !!!! LOL Anyhow, to the days leading up to Feb. 14th, we should share the love and get a little naughty!! :kiss:

Note to guys trying to find girls in there: If you're flirting with a girl, and the flirting has been going on for a few days.. Don't tell her that you wish she was with you so you could *really* hold her. Just don't. I don't know if I'm the only one who gets creeped out of he says something like that in such a short period of time or not, but I find it creepy. Does anyone else? Or is it just me?

lol!! Yes...that's a no no. Mind you, us women can get flirtatious. I'll admit, we like the attention!! But Minai, I agree with you...that kind of stuf just makes us cringe. So to follow up on Minai's post...when the flirting is good...keep flirting for a while....longer while....how about more than a few days kind of while. Heh. I think we need to get more women in There!!!

That's a great point zzuess. You never know who's really there. What cracks me up is when I'm chatting with a new person and they get freaked out no matter what type of question you ask. I guess "Have you been online long?" sounds too much like "Do you come here often?" :dunno:

I have GOT to get our other PC fixed. The only computer time I have now is Monday and Tuesday - Mackie is being a There hog.

hehe how about don't get to crass to qwik - everyone loves a bit of naughty talk - but there are degrees and you need to be careful how far to take it. Let the girl be your guide as to how naughty you can be. You will find some like to dip their toes and some their whole body - but going to the whole body part straight off the bat is not a good idea. Valentine's comin up!!! Found some great couple spots. I'm sure all of you have found your own too. Post them here and share! (or don't share, you might lose your romance spot) LOL!!! Here's one for ya....if you go to the west most point of monkey crater there is this tower. If you can get yourself to the top via hoverpack...you get a great view!! Mackie and I were in the hot tub Friday night and started kissing. There were two other couples in there (don't know if they were already friends or not) that got in to it too. The camera kept switching back and forth, harps were playing, hearts and daggers flying :hearts:

... it was too funny.

Try out some of the emotes in kiss mode - there are many that still work without breaking the kiss.

I just have to say that if it sounds cheesy then you probably shouldn't use it to introduce yourself to a female! Anything along the lines of "Hey Baby looks like we are alone here... in the dark" is probably going to cause the girl to run! very fast!

I really wish we could do more especially leading up to valentine's, give flowers, hugs, holding someone etc. Chairs and Tables as in a romantic candlelit dinner would be nice. The love seat just doesnt cut it (except for macking out :laugh:

). I hope they will surprise us on Valentine's

I agree that they should have options. I doubt they will have anything ready by Tomorrow though. That would be cool if you could give flowers or a box of candy!!! Essentially it is same thing as 'hearts. If we can do one for 'flower or 'candy. That would be cool. We'll see. :blush:

TRUE!! One time it worked.....but not all the other times....I end up getting a kiss on the forehead or something!! Anyhoo...had a lovely chit chat with the girls in There. They are all in hiding! A big hint....cut it with the cheesy pick up lines and dirty talk. That is the most common complaint that I hear over and over again.

To be fair though there are girls in game who need to re-think the way they talk to guys off the bat. While the number of guys who start off this way is probably higher (sorry guys

) because I have heard some hair raising tales from some guys who have encountered girls who were just horrible in their "opening statments" :wtf:

Just a couple of suggestions and ideas. Input always welcome.:)

If you're kinda shy about the whole kissing thing and haven't tried it, keep your eyes open for a kissing booth. BritneySpears had one on ValDay and I found it to be a great way to learn for the first time. Thanks Britney you were my first, but not my last that night.:)

Guys -BUY A LOVE SEAT. If you are having an intimate conversation, ask if she would like to sit for awhile. Other people can't butt in if you are sitting.

My approach is this...
I try to get to know her first.
If I meet a girl I like, and had fun with her, I let her know it. "hey, I really had fun tonight, we should get together again sometime"and/or "feel free to make me a buddy or IM me if you get bored"
You can tell allot by how she answers you.

Put some info in your Out of There profile about yourself. I get told "wow, i was just looking at your profile... " " You like to paint, me too" or something along that line more and more.

Just like in real life...
Know when to be aggressive and when not to be.
Be yourself, don't try to impress.
Be honest and friendly.
Keep your mouth shut if you don't have anything nice to say.
If it seems as though you've walked into a private conversation, apologize and excuse yourself.(you'll be surprised how many times people will ask you to stay)
Always complement people on how they look before you complement them on their clothing.(like" You look great, I love that outfit on you" is always better than "nice shirt")

Ok, thats all from me for now. Sorry this turned into a novel.:p
Oh and one more thing...If you come accross a guy named Techzen, just walk up and say "Hey I know you from Thereuniverse".:)

I'm sure some gals are interested in a virtual quickie - but last night within 5 minutes of being logged in, a new guy added me to his buddy list. I didn't think anything of this until a minute or so later he IM'ed me saying he thought I (my avatar?) was hot and asking if I wanted to "cyber" in return for $T. I wasn't at all shocked because this is, after all, the internet, but thought he would have had better luck actually chatting with me first and not just propositioning out of the blue. I politely declined but was laughing about this all evening. Would that count as virtual prostitution?

[I'm posting this anonymously because I don't want anyone who read it get the wrong impression. Believe me guys, if I had wanted to say this to you I would have said it ;-)

This is for the rest of the guys out there...before it's too late]

Okay guys, you've found a nice girl and you've spent some time with her, and talked, and worked up to sitting in the hot tub and having some serious face time -- that does NOT mean you are officially engaged. Hey, your cartoon kissed her cartoon. What's that mean, really?

Specifically, that does not mean that she wants to spend her every online moment with you. There's lots of other people to meet, and lots of other activities to explore. If she wants to spend some time with you, it'll happen, don't worry.

It's okay to IM her once in a while. It's NOT okay to try to summon here without asking first. And if you do ask, don't be disappointed if sometimes the answer is no, thanks.

Please, this is a whole virtual world to explore. Meeting new people, and checking out the emoticons is all part of it. Just dont make us use the 'let's be friends' speech ;-)

I am cracking up here...I have never had the patience, time, or technical skill to read forums...I notice today that I am missing out on a lot... however I guess I'm gonna have to spend some time catching up with this..I was on the floor, (literally had to pick myself up) cracking up laughing while reading what UncleJohn (UJ) and ZzeusS wrote of me... I had forgotten all about that, until a new friend read it and teased me about it.. :eviltongue:

HILARIOUS..I was cracking up! ! To simply defend myself... and poor ZzeusS (who is MIA), it was all innocent fun, just a noob in play hahaha
Another thing that made my 'lil tickle bone quiver and shake was a later post that subtly hinted that ZzeusS was at times really talking to UJ...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I can honestly say that that never happened!! How funny!

Here's what I do. Pretend the woman I'm talking to is a guy. (oh hush, korba). It's just that simple. Sure it may be a guy with great cartoon boobs and eyes that make you dream in anime (you hush too Rebekka), but just being natural and approaching someone as a possible friend first, someone you could teach, or be taught from like you would someone you're -not- interested in. Be respectful. That's it in a nutshell. But like someone said... unplug every so often and use this in the real There.

Just... be yourself. Dont try to impress or anything. Dont try to woo or be romantic, just talk normaly. These kind of things always start from friendship. If anything, try to be a friend first - and drop the hints later.

Well...its definitely been a while. How about getting a friend to be a quiet driver on a hoverboat and you and your significant other can take flight on a hoverboat and enjoy the breath taking view?

Or you can always go to the hidden room (well, not THAT hidden) with the pool in the waterfalls in the desert!

Hey...about that raving about them in the Rant and Rave section and sending them a link to it and letting them know you gave them a 5 star!!!

i really don't have much to say beyond what has been said on this thread already, but i have discovered that if you just be yourself and not take anything too seriously, you'll do just fine. if you have the inclination to help people, then helping out newbies can be rewarding. i have been "unofficially" helping out newbies, and i have met some very great people that way. i personally approach the game in a lighthearted manner. i find it more satisfying to get to know people instead of flirting right off the bat. if you flirt, be sure to know and respect your friend's boundaries. eventhough this is a virutal world, crossing somebody's boundaries is not cool. i find that a warm, friendly, respectful attitude goes a long way.

For many many months I did not allow myself to flirt or get attached to anyone in the game. I was here to kick arse not play kissy face. Well something happened.

A friend I had known since my first week in There (some nine months now) let me know how much he thought of me. No cheesy pick up lines. Heck he wasn't even trying to pick me up. But he melted me with his words and sealed my fate with a kiss. Now he's got the girl and I've never looked back. A month later we are still just as happy together as that first crazy night when he turned me upside down and inside out.

So I suppose my dating tips are to be yourself, let these things develop over time, and open yourself to the possibilities when they arise. Sin like you mean it!

Maybe its just me but I talk to anyone that is willing to talk to me! As long as your not rude to me I will talk to you.Ofcourse we all want to hear hey nice outfit or hey sexy or any other compliment.I am not of those rude snotty people who ignore people just because I don't know who they are.I talk to everyon and try to get to know everyone as thats the best way to make friends and keep them!

I guess my only tip would be if you want to talk to someone don't try to run them over with your buggy and then try to talk to them!

Be yourself and not a person who feels they need to impress anyone.Trying too hard can be as bad as not trying enough in some instances! Yes I am married but that don't mean you can't flirt or meet others as friends!
