I have a personal rule I broke only one time, waaay back in Palace days, and it totally blew up in my face. I do not do online romantic relationships. I learned from that one time.
Not that I don't believe they can't work (look at Scotty and Hugh or Mux and Bama), its just that for me.. I never got any satisfaction out of them. I want to be able to snuggle up to my sweetie at night. Somehow, holding my computer just isn't the same. Since this thread started things have changed from my page 1 post, and someone did "get their mitts into me". But she wasn't a gold digger, she was an old friend from long ago.
And you can see a pic of us together on page 7 of this same thread as well as this pic below. I am a much happier person to know that there is someone that will always be there for me in There. Daemona is a caring and compassionate individual that I've known for quite some time, and I couldn't imagine anyone nicer to have hooked up with.

oh yes those hooks have a way of digging in without you realizing it don't they? And then one night you're sitting there with a friend and they decide to tell you the most wonderful heartfelt things and before you know it there is a big stupid grin on your face and a tear in your eye and you can't even think straight to type anything just sitting there letting your avatar nod and smile and shake their head and you're sitting there at home dying because this person you just think the world of just said they think the world of you and then he leans in and kisses you and damn you don't know what to do but kiss him back....
and then he has to log off and work on a paper or something and you are sitting there still dying almost crying and grinning like a fricken schoolgirl so you IM your best friend to tell her and she is so happy for you and you just want to scream cuz it is so crazy and liberating and fun!

and then he has to log off and work on a paper or something and you are sitting there still dying almost crying and grinning like a fricken schoolgirl so you IM your best friend to tell her and she is so happy for you and you just want to scream cuz it is so crazy and liberating and fun!

Sorry no dice. i talk to the people behind the screens. I've known my there guy for about as long as I have been in There, about 8 months. I've told him things about me that I've never even told my own MOTHER! Quite frankly they are things that would turn her hair white. It wasn't the animated emotes that do this...it's the sentiments expressed. I guarantee Rayce knows more about me then my co-workers do and I spend 40 hours a week with them!
I think that the safety we have sitting behind this screen allows us to open up more and share more about ourselves on an emotional and spiritual level that we just don't do with people in "RL." I know if I had met Rayce irl I never would have had the guts to go talk to him. Well maybe
I know what is RL and what is not, and I don't need anyone's approval to feel the way that I do! Sin like you mean it!

I'm sick of people just throwing words with strong meaning around like that. For example, I had a person recently (we'll just refer to her as mega_1nf4n7) call me her friend when in actuality she treated me very little like one. I won't discuss her possible motives but it aggravated me to the point that I am on guard and will be even more careful in the future who I allow to call me "friend."
