So what's going on with furniture now, guys?
I'm used to take out my chair at a beautiful beach, sit down and enjoy the view.
I logged in this morning and now all my "outdoor" furniture is missing the "take out" option.
They sit in my inventory forever til I buy a house?
Any input appreciated. And when she calls your name my sweet Johnny B

I also had this problem. I ended up selling all my gear.. and then found out how you drop..
When you get into your funzone, go to "This Place" and go to Gear. You can drop things that way.
Hope that helps  I type too damn much.

But there are some places that the "THIS PLACE" option is not enabled because it is not viewed as a fun zone. So I guess we are SOL.   I refuse to allow a game or anyone for that matter sanction me from speaking my mind. I AM PROUD, I AM URBAN, I AM a WOMAN of GOD....HEAR ME ROAR!!!!

Go to where you want to place couch.
Drop the free "Casual Portazone"
Walk Inside
Click "This Place"
Click top menu item. Pick something to "Take out"
Grab it move it around. When ready, drop it.
Maybe add a few more items.
Done.

I have a home. In my home, I see the gear option, but it is grayed out and set at a 0 drop limit. I dont have an option to sit out couches, tables, plants, nothing...With the exception of a big elephant thing I bought from Marissa9.  All hail Queen Mackie!

Oh yeah, when I logged in the first time, none of my furniture was in the right folder. They were just listed, but in the main "my things" menu. The folders were still there, just empty. All hail Queen Mackie!

Ok I have a loveseat that I like to sit in from time to time and I (like the rest of you) am unable to just plop it down anywhere now without a portazone... but on my exploring this morning I counted no less than THREE seats just sitting out in the middle of nowhere... one was on the outskirts of Karuna Plaza (where the signs and crap are)
How come they get to put their stuff there when I can't? (I tried... wouldn't let me)

more then likely - those people hid the boundies of their port a zones
to do so, go to one of the poles of your port a zone and hover over the arrow that apears - select hide boundies.

Bama-dear, I hear you.
I got similar probs and friends who can't put down stuff in their houses anymore.
Some of them called tech-support, some tried to contact There via the messenger function.
Some asked a "helper" in game.
All you get at the moment are ... well ... weird answers.
Like talking to a robot.
Helper Example:
Me: I got a problem with my furniture.
Helper: There is doing a lot of new stuff with houses now!!!
Me: Yes?! Meaning?
Helper closes IM window.
Other "games" patch.
There doesn't or can't.
To have things fixed, we got to wait til a new release, a new client is downloadable.
I'm a little hesitate now signing up for a "lifetime" account for "only" 29 something bucks.
And by the way:
Why do we have to go to an unofficial (and thank god it exists) website to get all that info?
Put out a manual, There.
Online.
Update it when stuff changes.
And tell us about changes in a patch message please.
There is a wonderful, beautiful, new interactive idea.
Please make it more transparent for everyone.

i think its really dumb that they did this without telling us, because now i have 700 OR MORE ITEMS that are all unusable. you have a max or what, 7 or so in the portazone that they give you which only stays for 4 hours,and im not paying 22k a month for a good one.
Do you think they will refund? theres NO WAY i will use 700+ items that used to be useable anywhere, now i can use a whopping 7 or them for free

They might give you a refund - but I doubt for the full price (without taking the money from the developers who you bought the items from).
They may give you the wholesale cost at full price back. Doesnt hurt to ask ;P
You'll probably get more if you sell in the auctions though.

Do you think the PAZ will auto-renew when the 4 hours are up? Wonder if they have that option?
Question: I have a couch and a chair. When I placed them in close proximity and had peeps sitting in each spot the chair occupant and the couch occupants are not in the same conversation. If they were both in a small PAZ would they then be a "set?" Or, do I need to place them on a rug? Any ideas? BOINCer, but you may call me Bo

if you mean being able to read each other's bubbles ... I doubt it. They really should add that feature to the PAZ - being able to see everyone's bubbles, regardless of the seating.
The couch is probably considered its own group - I know if you place 4 chairs or so, you can read each others bubbles, but when ya stick a couch in there, thats when it gets all .. blah.
Re: the 4 hours.
You have to manualy "refill" them - you can do this from your My Thinks menu. So you dont have to actually be in front of it - just logged in.

Hey all
I was pretty ticked when I couldn't put anything into my house. Everything is so buggy! Finally, though, I seem to have a half decent house up.
Like mentioned abouve, This Place > Gear is the key to dropping things. If you want to have chairs around a table, you have to purchase a seating arrangement!
The weirdest thing happened with my chairs and stuffs. I got my house the last night of PB3 and bought a red jazz set to change all the furniture. It was pretty cheap too! Just around 2k. Wednesday night when I logged in, and after figuring out that I had to buy a group seating, I still had the zebra floor lamp, one end table, tiki hutch, tiki screen, sideboard and a plant. What happened to the rest? I had bought a couch and a chair already for extra seating that last night, and I still had those, but I didn't have any couch, and no chairs. What are we supposed to do with that add-on kit now? Destroy it? Or did they change it?
It's all a mess!
And you have to pay to open your windows? heh what kind of bs is that.
Those are my thoughts..!

Here's my chief complaints with the "free" paz.
1) you can *not* drop a ramp in it. It's too small, you get an error.
2) you can *not* drop the PAZ in very uneven ground or on hillsides.
3) you can *not* drop the paz in or under existing public world structures so that you could nest or decorate a shack.
4) you can *not* drop the paz on a roof, so your houses will all be nice and bare on top, no decks.
5) once you lay down a medium or a large, you are given 1 "free" included hour of time. Once that time is up, you are on the clock, spending money even if you are building or creating something.
6) They are tied to a non-existent funpass - which was NOT explained, and I can currently only drop 1 PAZ at a time. I am at least expert in every skill but 1, and renown in a couple of others, and legendary in another. And I can only drop one paz.
7) Chairs and couches: Some paz's do not allow chairs and couches the "sit" option. This is a bug and will be fixed no doubt, but it's still annoying.
8) A great many dev objects are screwed up. They look incorrect, nearly 85% of all my dev objects are messed up, in all paz's.
9) The closest you can lay a PAZ to another persons PAZ appears to be 10 meters - so you can't even "group" for building a structure together. There is forcing us to pay for a larger one.
10) The price of builder kits for PAZ and FAZ is incredibly high - as much or more then most houses rent. At 25k for a builder kit, and close to 30k a month to leave your PAZ out, There truly is essentially charging you more than TWICE the amount of any home in there for the privilege of exercising your creativity.
Second life is looking *very* attractive right now.

EVERYONE, i talked to helper_Chareve last night(about the horrid prices), and she said everyone is saying this and she is trying to get people to Theremail her our concerns, and maybe we could MAKE A DIFFERENCE and let the world be acessable to the average, non rich player

That's the main problem I'm having right now. The textures for the dev objects (stuff I've bought in auctions) are not loading correctly/not loading at all. The couches all default back to the orange standard couch.... the wood floors and such won't load the texture.. and RL's fishtank isn't looking nice either. If I were a developer, I would be outraged.
But for now I'm left with an inventory full of great dev items that I can't drop anymore!
**edit: Has anyone contacted There about this?? I'm curious to see what they say about it... "I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong."

For the record, in case some haven't figured this out yet... anything in your gear that shows "Add-on Kit" below it, means you can only drop it in a porta-zone via the "This Place" menu.
If an object (and there ARE some developer objects like this) does not say "Add-On Kit" below it, you can still drop it anywhere. Kevin McVeigh

Question: I bought a rug today to put in my casual PAZ. I could not get it to fit. It looked to be the exact size, but with me in the zone placing it I couldn't get it to work. I don't remember the name of the rug, but it is a tanish area rug. Not a throw rug. Any ideas?
